Oestrogen does far more than support fertility.
Research is clear: chronic use of hormonal contraceptives, chronic stress, antibiotics, steroids, infections, toxic overload (plastic, make up, junk food, sugar), nutritional deficiencies – these are the underlying causes of unbalanced hormones which need to be addressed to bring your body back into balance.
Oestrogen does far more than support fertility. It works in partnership with insulin to allow us to use sugars and starches for energy.
As oestrogen declines, insulin is unable to do its work. The sugars and starches we eat are now mostly converted to fat, leaving our brains and bodies starved for energy.
The solution? Start burning fat for energy — bypassing the need for oestrogen completely.
Research shows that our cellular biochemistry adapts during perimenopause to favour fat-burning. By the time this transition is complete, our ability to use sugars and starches drops by 80%, while fat-burning capacity increases by 80%.
Burning fat for energy requires:
